August 2026 - Nate's 50 and Dumped Sailing so Better Sell My Boat

In this month, Nate hit the big 50, discovered a mouse in the house, looking for answers golfing and P-dawg dumped me in the water while sailing.  As well as the usual Brad observations in Ctown...

Protesting Christian's and Jews beside each other, that's confusing...clearly I didn't get it.

Sign of a good month?

Trying clubs at Golf Traders

This one works pretty good

$1000 for some irons...tough call

Side Story: Met Burcu at volley ball and it turns out she is from Turkey, Antalya to be exact which was my favourite spot.  She knows all the spots I loved when I was there, even the bar I got banned for life from!  Small world.

Discovered some mouse droppings downstairs and tried to figure where they got in to the house.

backdoor step showing lots of separating

Going to need to foam it up

Adding wire to block the mice

Sad, but time to put my small sail boat up for sale. Some really fun times, but Dale and I just don't make time for the boat anymore especially now that I have a bigger boat in the Caribbean it's nice to get away from sailing when in Canada.

It was a fun spot for 10 years

Jamming in the garage with Tommy A.

Found a super good and cheap spot for Vietnamese with my friend Aimee who is back in Calgary after living away in New Zealand for 7 years with her kids.  Pho Thanh is a great spot.

$8! now $12 in most places

Fell in love with Avocado
shakes in Vietnam
Tasty Pho offering refills of broth...oh yeah!

85 grams is more $$ per gram

Nice backyard with Percilla

My Blackberry collection

Out to lower Kananaskis to golf 9 holes with my mom at Livingstone which is very nice.  If only I tapped in that damn eagle (would have been my first)!!  Of course my mom beat me, steady and straight (what a concept).

4 ft for Eagle!

Finishing Hole 9
Go Bonny!

Good buddy Nate's big birthday surprise (1 month ahead to make sure he was surprised).  We all waiting in the garage as Tanya tracked him coming home with her phone.  He was shocked.

A recycled card from my birthday that I expect to see down the road.

Surprise Nate!

The An*&^#on boys.  Great family!

Making my shake and I guess
I didn't screw the top on tight

Hopefully it can take blueberry

Super slippery side story: Third time sailing with Percilla and thought why not be a gentleman and do the work setting up the jib while she was on the tiller steering us (for her first time).  I went up front to undo the lashing I had on the unset jib, the boat started to drift off course so I said steer us back forgetting to say GENTLY and next thing I knew I was flipped in to the water wrapped up in the jib sheets.  When asked how did I get back to the boat I said, "I never left as I was tied up in ropes".  Percilla with embarrassed and I was not happy and disappointed in my captaincy.  The captain in the water is about as bad of sailing any captain can do.  Humbling, but funny once I dried out.  Good it was 30 degrees.  First Man Overboard Drill too.

PS. it took me 5 minutes to get back in the boat as I had no breath the first minute and no strength to climb in.  Good thing Percilla is strong and could pull me in by the life jacket.

all wet

Great photos though

Both of us feeling better about it

The next day noticing cuts
and bruises from the dumping

Another good summer hockey completed by an Andrew P. BBQ (I may have had something to do with this tradition starting years back).
